(Short description)
1. System Overview
GPC-Worldwide’s Transportation Simulation Engine provides companies using SAP the ability to compare calculated and/or paid shipments with other shipment scenarios by allowing the substitution of shipment creation parameters. Various simulation scenarios can be used in order to compare freight costs from multiple carriers to discover which plant and or location is actually the best from which to supply your customers, thus uncovering previously unknown opportunities to save money on freight costs. Using your SAP data, you can make informed business decisions about your current transportation processes, and then make the right decisions to best fit cost saving considerations without sacrificing service levels or customer satisfaction.
2. Simulation based on existing shipments
Selection of existing shipments w/o restrictions for a recalculation, e.g. with:
- Determination of alternative carriers, including the usage of the GPC carrier selection module (SAS)
- Determination of an alternative shipping point
- Weight enhancement by percent to test whether it would make sense to consolidate deliveries based on the existing
tariffs
- Determination of an alternative calculation logic (e.g. pallet price vs. LTL)
- Re-Determination of the consolidation logic (consolidate based on day of week)
- Definition of average CO2-Emissions and fuel consumption per mile.
3. Simulation based on existing deliveries (w/o shipments)
Selection of existing and shipment relevant deliveries for the simulation (shipment documents are not required)
- Multiple transportation scenarios are possible
- Automatic Carrier Selection (SAS)
- Determination of the criteria for consolidation
- Re – Determination of delivery dates.
