Standard Solutions
All standard solutions for SAP R/3 systems provided by GPC, can be used in release 4.0B and higher.
The solutions are ADD-IN developments, so there is no modification of standard objects. The connection between the standard functionality and the GPC modules is established in user exits respectively customer functions. The modules are developed within the name range of SAP partners (J*). This name range and the use of project numbers (assigned by SAP) guarantee, that no naming conflict with standard objects, customer objects or objects of other partner solutions occurs. Additionally, the GPC modules provide their own user exits.

Advantages of ADD-IN modules in comparison to external
complementary solutions:
When using external solutions, interfaces controlling the data exchange between the applications are necessary. These interfaces are expensive and need maintenance. Additionally, problems occur, when the functionality is changed or enhanced.
Integrated solutions need no interface - the same data base and the same function library is used. Additionally, events and flows can be synchronized without additional effort. These advantages are provided by the GPC modules:
- usage of SAP standard objects
   - user interface (screens and menus) technique
   - archiving logic
   - customizing logic
   - SAP TMS
   - authorization objects
   - currency objects
   - language objects
- master data maintenance without any redundancy
- independent creation of a solution for freight calculation and settlement w/o any
   interferences of the standard SAP customizing and databases
